Acqua della Regina Eau de Cologne, commissioned by Caterina de' Medici as a gift for her future husband, Henry, Duke of Orléans, in 1533. Citrus and petitgrain open. Neroli, rosemary and lavender at the heart. Musk at the base.

Renato Bianco, perfumer to Caterina de' Medici, created a fragrance of Italian citrus and aromatic plants. When she left for France, she took both the perfume and its creator. Known as Acqua della Regina, or the Queen's Water, it remains one of the Officina's oldest documented compositions: hesperidic and aromatic, with a persistent structure built on citrus and officinal herbs. Wish It Lasted Longer

I'm a huge fan of this scent and of the Santa Maria products. But it only lasts briefly. Sometimes by the time I arrive at my destination, it's gone.
