Pot Pourri tells you a poetical story, inspired by 800 years of tradition, just waiting to become your story.
Pot Pourri is the fragrance of Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s historic pot pourri. This cologne recalls the aromas of buds, leaves and flower petals characteristic of the Tuscan hills.
The freshness of the laurel is combined with citrus notes on the top. In the middle, an aromatic blend of lavender, thyme, rosemary and cloves gives a feeling of naturalness and well-being. In the base, cedarwood, patchouli, and balsam from Peru give character to the mélange.
Olfactory Family: Aromatic
Top: Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Laurel
Middle: Lavender, Thyme, Cloves, Rosemary
Base: Patchouli, Cedar Wood, Balsam of Peru
Dear SMN Customer Service,
I am writing to complain strongly about the new bottles for fragrances. I discovers this change when I opened my new bottle of Pot Pourri purchased online on October 5, 2021. The inability to unscrew the atomizer to decant the fragrance into a smaller glass bottle is a major problem for the following reasons:
- I travel a lot and always wish to take my fragrances along in my carryon hand luggage. Yes, I understand that it is possible to spray the liquid down the inside of the small glass bottle but that degrades the fragrance because of the exposure to the oxidative properties of air, thus destroying the natural ingredients.
- I prefer to decant my fragrances into smaller glass bottles for daily use so that the original bottles can be stored in a cool, dark place, thus avoiding degradation as described above for exposure to air.
- As every scientist knows, this manner of treating a fine fragrance is just wrong! Fine fragrances should be stored away from light, in a cool dry place and have limited exposure to the oxidative properties of air.
I am truly disappointed in this marketing move by Santa Maria Novella! I discovered this company while traveling in Florence years ago and am intrigued by the 800 year history and commitment to high quality in everything that it sells. I use a number of the fragrances, Lana, MeloGrano, Pot Pourri; and the olive oil soap. These are not cheap! So why did the company make such a cheap, non-sustainable move like this change in packaging? Really horrible! To save money? To force people to waste the fragrance?
Please explain how SMN will address this situation. Thank you for your attention to this atrocious change.
