Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s Vaniglia fragrance has a warm, sweet and oriental scent. Vanilla is a species of the orchid family and is native to Central America. The Aztecs made a beverage with cacao and vanilla (“tlixochill” or black bean) that they drank in large quantities. It was a sort of precursor to modern hot chocolate. Legend tells us that Montezuma offered Hernan Cortes a fragrant drink with an unusual taste: it was a chocolate drink spiced with vanilla. Cortes brought cacao to Spain in 1500, and from there it spread throughout all Europe. Read more

Such a happy girl!

I first bought my fragrance when I was in Florence visiting the Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella! I loved everything about this historical visit. I have worn nothing but the Vaniglia Eau de Cologne since my return. My only wish is they would make this in a travel size since this bottle is just over TSA allowed limit! If you are a fan of vanilla, this is the fragrance for you! You will be glad you did!

Unfortunate UGGGH
Took a chance. . .

Took a chance & ordered this fragrance based on review that said it was not a 'sweet' vanilla scent. They were right ! Really impressed with this scent. It is not over-powering; does not 'hit' your nose but teases it with a gentle, delicate fragrance. So glad I ordered it.

Beautiful vanilla.

This is an incredibly unique vanilla fragrance. Not super sweet like many other vanillas on the market, but instead deep and spicy and dark. Ever so slightly powdery and stays close to the wearer like an aura. Beautiful!
